Robots that vacuum and clean offer the convenience of cleaning dry debris and wet mess in one time, without having to switch devices. They can also save space compared to two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot must be able to navigate well and have excellent obstacles avoidance. Look for models that automatically empty their bin, refill their water tank, and machine-wash their mopping pads from the dock that is specifically designed for them.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It has plenty to offer for its relatively low cost, and it's one of the most simple robots we've tested to install. Unpacking is simple and the quick-start manual will have you running in no time. It comes with an entire dust bag, water tank, and a hard floor solution.
The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can mop and vacuum well. The mops spin at high speed and use 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to remove dirt, pet hair and sticky dried spills. The vacuum has four power modes, a variety of brushes and attachments, and a user-friendly app that lets you pick the exact kind of cleaning you'd like for each room.
For instance, you could decide to let the robot clean up the living and kitchen but take it easy in the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro's front collision sensors and smart navigation technology are also excellent and the robot is capable of detecting tiny obstacles that other models have difficulty overcoming. Its only issue is that the robot tends to crash into walls and objects at a high speed. However, a quick look at the cleaning history on the app will show you precisely what the robot has completed, where it's going, and which obstacles it has encountered or avoided.
The docking station features an LCD display that indicates the need for maintenance like emptying the debris and washing the dirty water tank. It's also capable of mixing detergent automatically into the water tank, using a 600ml bottle of eufy's own solution.
Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop come with plenty of running time and the mop is capable of running for 184 minutes in Quiet mode, while the vacuum is able to do 136 minutes in standard mode before having to recharge or return to the base to refill. You can also view the full cleaning details in the app, which is clearly laid out and easy to understand however we would like to be able distinguish between a vacuum only or a vacuum/mop clean when looking at a cleaned area in the cleaning history.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the latest version of Roborock's flagship robot mop and vacuum, is the most up-to-date version. In contrast to the model of last year, this one features a double agitator in its mopping pad which significantly improves its carpet cleaning capabilities. The S8 Pro Ultra also has improved suction power, allowing it to pick up fine hairs and other debris that other robotic cleaners could miss.
This Roborock model, just like the other two I tested is equipped with infrared and 3D obstacle avoidance technology to help it get around obstacles like furniture, walls, and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things an extra step by adding a dual camera which can recognize objects and determine whether they're a wall or another surface. It can then change its course automatically and clean around the objects, without missing a step.
It's the most expensive model I've tried, but it also has the most features. Its sleek angular design is eye catching and comes with three buttons that are physically accessible. The power button, which resumes the cleaning mop function, a button for cleaning that doubles as a child lock and a home button to take the robot to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid reveals 350ml of dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank is automatically filled and the bin fills up automatically.
The only downside I've discovered with this model is that its VibraRise mop pad mount is not removable. While you can swap out the mopping cloth (if it's required), it's a pain to remove the mount itself for manual washing. I've observed that any soft carpet that the robot passes will come into contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, and that can cause abrasions.
The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a number clever features, including support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. You can set up and manage these using the Roborock app which is also home to its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app lets you schedule cleanings and monitor the battery's life. You'll need to jump through a series of steps to activate voice control on this model. This is a shame considering the performance otherwise.

Contrary to other robots, which are restricted to a single task, the X40 can vacuum and mop simultaneously. It can be programmed to only mop the hard floors and not skip carpeted areas, or reverse the process. It can be controlled through the Dreame app or with Alexa, Siri, and Google Home for smooth voice-controlled operation.
The app is easy to use and intuitive The X40 is equipped with many clever features that are easy to configure. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, alter suction power and mode, view mapping and floor plans, and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also monitor its progress and notify you when it's done.
The X40 is easy to maintain and comes with numerous features that make it an excellent option for busy families. Its docking station automatically empties the dustbin into a huge 3.2 L bin, washes the mop pads, then refills them with clean water and a cleaning solution. It can also detect the moment when the mop pad is at its maximum capacity and notify you of the situation prior to it bursting.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models on the market. However, it has a number of features that make it stand out. The mops are equipped with a new feature called Smart DuoScrub. It utilizes two mops that are high-speed to scrub floors more thoroughly than the conventional method, and has an impressive suction power of 7,000Pa. This is much higher than that of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni, and it can clean pet hair and other small dirt particles - and also pick up spills and wet spots.
The mop is also dried and cleaned inside the base station after each use. This is a great feature as it stops the growth of odours and mould in storage, and it also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature we haven't seen in other robot mop or vacuum models. It could be a great way to keep your home clean longer.
There are many options, including the option to schedule cleanings and adjust preferences. The app allows you to make these settings or utilize the buttons on the device itself. The app is simple to use and offers many options for customising the cleaning routine, and there are a lot of features that other robots don't include, for instance, the Clean Genius mode that automatically boosts suction power when it detects dust particles, instead of using the manual setting.
The L20 Ultra has a stylish design with a metallic-white-white finish that looks elegant and elegant. It's heavier than some of the other two-in-1 robots on this list, at 4kg however it's not overly heavy, and it feels sturdy and well-built. Mopping is also well-designed, and the double rotating mops work well on hard floors as well as in corners. They can even reach down to 2mm baseboards thanks to the MopExtend feature which is a nice touch.
