Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that vacuum and clean offer the convenience of cleaning both dry and wet messes in one time and without the need to switch between devices. They can also reduce space in comparison to two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot will have excellent navigation and obstacles avoidance. Look for models that have docks that allow them to automatically empty their bins, fill their water tanks, and wash the mopping pads.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It's one of the simplest robots to set up that we've ever tested. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and the quick-start guide will get you up and running with a clean, complete dust bag, a hard floor solution and water tank in a matter of minutes.
The S1 Pro is a powerful little machine that cleans up a mess and is a great vacuum cleaner too. The mops spin at high speeds and can apply 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, which makes short work of dirt, pet hair, and dried sticky spills. The vacuum cleaner has four power settings, a variety of attachments and brushes and an intuitive app that lets you choose the kind of cleaning you'd like for each room.
You could, for instance ask the robot to clean the kitchen and living room thoroughly but leave the bedroom in its own space. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors and smart navigation technology. It can detect small obstacles that other models are unable to. The only issue it has is that it can hit objects and walls at full speed - but a quick glance at the cleaning history in the app tells you exactly what it's doing, where it's going, and which obstacles it's run into or avoided.
Internet Page on the docking station shows you when maintenance tasks need to be done like emptying the debris tray and cleaning the dirty water tank. It also mixes detergent into the water tank automatically by using a 600ml eufy solution.
Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum come with a long-running time. The mop can operate for 184 mins in Quiet Mode and the vacuum can run for 136 minutes in normal mode, prior to needing to recharge or returning back to the base. And you can see the entire cleaning information in the app, which is clearly laid out and is easy to comprehend although we would have liked to be able to distinguish between a vacuum and mop and vacuum clean when examining a cleaned area in the history of cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the latest version of Roborock's top-of-the-line robot vacuum and mop, is the newest version. This year's model has two agitators built into its mopping pad. This increases the cleaning capabilities of carpets with this model. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction capacity that enables it to pick up smaller hairs and other particles other robotic cleaners could miss.
The Roborock model, like the other two I tried is equipped with infrared and 3D obstacle avoidance technology that helps it get around obstacles like furniture, walls and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further and includes two cameras that can recognize objects, determining if they are walls or other surfaces. It can then automatically change its direction and clean them without skipping a beat.
It's the most expensive model I've tried however it also comes with the most features. Its sleek and angular design is eye catching and only has three buttons that are physically accessible. The power button, which also restarts the cleaning mop function, a button for cleaning that doubles as a child-lock, and a home-button to bring the robot to its dock. The hinged lid opens up to reveal a 350ml trash bin and 200ml of water tank. The water tank will empty itself and the bin is auto-refilling.
The only issue I have discovered with this model is that its VibraRise mop pad mount is not removable. While you can replace the mopping cloth (if needed) but it's a challenge to remove the mount itself to wash it manually. I've found any plush carpet that the robot touches will be in contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on mounts, which can cause abrasions.
The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart features which include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. This Web page is where you can manage and configure these smart features. It also contains maps and advanced mopping options. The app lets you plan cleanings and monitor the battery's lifespan. However, you'll need to jump through a few hurdles to enable voice control on this model which is unfortunate considering the quality of its performance.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is a leader in the industry with innovative features, superior suction power, and advanced mopping capabilities. Its innovative design allows for customised and efficient cleaning while reducing time.
The X40 is the first robotic vacuum cleaner that can deliver 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which easily makes it one of the top alternatives available. This powerful vacuum cleans up the dry mess, which includes pet hair and dust. It has a mop of excellent quality that can clean hard floors without the use of pads. The X40 is also extremely quiet while in use with only occasional bursts during modes changes or self-maintenance.
The X40 also has a side brush that can be lifted and extended. This allows it to reach into corners that are hard to reach and clean furniture with curved edges like table and chair legs. The robot is also able to reach under furniture that is low-profile which makes it an ideal option for smaller apartments or condos. The side brush automatically tilts down when it detects wet spots. This is a wonderful feature that helps the X40 to prevent damage to floors from repeated back-and-forth movements.
Contrary to other robots, which are limited to a single task, the X40 can mop and vacuum simultaneously. It can also be programmed to eliminate areas that have carpet and only mop hard floors or vice versa. It can be controlled through the Dreame app or via Alexa, Siri, and Google Home to ensure a smooth voice-controlled operation.

The app is easy to use and understand The X40 is equipped with many clever features that are easy to install. Users can program the X40 to clean at certain times. They can also adjust suction power, alter modes, look at maps and floor plans, and manage mopping setting. The X40 can also track its progress and inform you when it's finished.
The X40 is easy to maintain and comes with numerous features that make it a perfect choice for busy families. The docking station automatically empty the trash bin into a 3.2 L bin, washes the mop pads, then refills them with clean water and a cleaning solution. It also can detect when the mop pad is full and notify you before it overflows, thus reducing the need for manual maintenance.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models available. However, it has several characteristics that make it stand out. Its mops have a new feature called Smart DuoScrub. This uses two high-speed mops to scrub floors more thoroughly than the conventional method, and has the highest suction power of 7,000Pa. This is more than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also clean pet hair, small dirt particles and remove spills and soiled spots.
Its mops are also cleaned and dried inside the base station after every use. This is a great feature as it keeps mould and unpleasant odours that can build up in the storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a system we haven't yet seen on other robot vacuums and mop models and it could be a great way of keeping your home clean for longer.
There's an impressive amount of settings available that include the ability to schedule cleaning times and adjust a number of different preferences. The app lets you make these settings or utilize the buttons on the device itself. The app is simple to use and offers many options for customizing the cleaning routine. Additionally, there are a lot of features that other robots don't have - such as the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power whenever it detects dust particles, rather than using the manual setting.
The L20 Ultra has a stylish design with a white-and-metallic finish that looks elegant and sophisticated. It's a bit heavier than some of the other two-in-one robots on this list - at 4kg but it's not too heavy, and it is sturdy and well-built. Mopping is also well-designed, and the double rotating mops work well on hard floors as well as in corners. They can even extend to 2mm of baseboards thanks to the MopExtend feature, which is a nice touch.
